Pray and Praise the wonder of His Majesty

Good morning!

Do you sometimes suddenly wake in the wee hours of the morning for no apparent reason? Do you wonder why you can lay there wide awake knowing there is no way you could go back to sleep? It happens to me frequently. It happened at 4:30 this morning.

I have come to believe this is just one of many ways God speaks to us in a small still voice. I believe it is His way of getting our attention and speaking to us – perhaps simply to have one-on-one alone time – perhaps to lay someone on our heart who needs prayer.

As it was, the first thoughts I had when I awoke this morning were of several of my friends who are suffering from illnesses such as cancer, heart conditions, and depression. I used this time of clear morning thinking to pray for them. I asked the Lord to have mercy on them, to give them a new touch of health, strength, joy and peace, His peace. And to lift their spirits in a way they will feel His presence and His healing touch.

I urge you to do the same the next time you awake prior to your normal rising time. Utilize the quiet time to talk to the Lord. Tell Him what is on your heart and mind.

Surely you know someone in need of prayer. What better time to cover them in prayer than when you feel God’s heart so close to yours. He longs to hear from you and welcomes you with open arms.

Have a wonderfully blessed day in the Lord as you keep on keeping on, for Him!

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.  And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. (1 John 5:14-15
