As I look over my very long and ever-increasing prayer list and see the names of so many hurting souls who have lost a loved one, I am reminded of the indescribable comfort God provided to me when I suffered such a great loss in October 2014.

One should never assume there is a designated time frame for grieving…

Through my hurting, my broken heart and the overwhelming sadness and sorrow I had never before experienced in such an intense way, God arranged for so many loving, caring and kind-hearted people to shower me with love, warmth and support in ways I never imagined.  He even arranged for people who I had not been in contact with for years, to come out of the woodwork and offer their condolences, love and support.  It meant the world to me to know so many people cared and were willing to step out of their comfort zone and busy lives to offer a helping hand and an encouraging word.  I shall forever be grateful to those who were so kind and supportive.

When you pray, take a moment to pray for those who are hurting from the loss of a loved one.  Grieving and hurting remain long after all of the sympathy cards and phone calls stop coming and everyone else has returned to their normal lives.  One should never assume there is a designated time frame for grieving and once it has passed everything suddenly returns to normal.  This could not be further from the truth.  Prayer is the best [free] gift we can offer to those who are hurting.  Prayer results in God sending the right people at the right time to offer comfort and encouragement.

May your day be blessed in abundance with much peace, joy, strength and comfort that comes only from above!
